- Split Ace and 10 count as 21 and not BJ

The Rules of Atlantic City Blackjack are actually very similar to that of the original blackjack game. But there are slight differences. The first thing you should notice is that Atlantic City Blackjack is played with 8 regular decks of playing cards, and is an american hole card game. This means that unlike european blackjack where the dealer only has one card at the beginning of the game, which means he cannot check for Blackjack. So if you doubled and then the dealer has blackjack you would lose. But in Atlantic City Blackjack the dealer has two cards. One face up the other face down. This of course means that if the face up card has a value of 10 or an ace the dealer will check to see if he has blackjack. If yes, then its instantly over. This means that you have less chance to lose a large amount of money.
