Card Counting
Card Counting is the infamous method of gaining a statistical edge over the casino – which is why for the past 50 years casinos have been running scared of anyone who dares to master the system - the good news is, if you’re able to simply add and subtract, then you too can become a card counter in no time!
If a genuine method of getting a real edge over the casino sounds too good to be true – then you’ve never played with a proven card counting system.
From the professional card counting teams to the rise of smart internet counters, the system is simply untouchable – unlike many questionable strategies, card counting is a genuine system that can help you get an edge over the house – again and again.
Because card counting has taken the casinos for millions, you might be thinking you’ll need to be a genius to understand it – fortunately it’s based on simple probability.
Card counting is a means of continuously analysing high and low-value cards – the key to remember is that high-value cards are good for players, while those with a low-value are good for the dealer!
High value cards can be a nightmare for the house, because the dealer must hit if they have less than 17 – on the other hand something like the humble 5 allows the dealer to make at least 17 out of any stiff hand.
Using a card counting method, you can determine when there are more high cards left in the pack(s) than low – this is the time to raise you bets and hit the dealer when the casino is at a distinct disadvantage!
You’ll be glad to know that you don’t need to memorise every card played – instead you assign a value (tag) to each card. For example, the Hi-Lo strategy gives a value of +1 to 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 value cards and –1 to every 10, Jack, King, Queen and Ace. The 7, 8 and 9 cards have a value of zero.
Before you rush out to master card counting, realise that this isn’t a miracle system – however, on average it can yield an advantage of one to four percent. So, while card counting won’t automatically give you a winning hand, it gives you a vital edge which in the long-run can be hugely profitable.
The rise of internet casinos has given you a huge opportunity to utilise card counting methods – you no longer need to be a hot shot statistical analyst with a super-memory, you have no casino watching you like a hawk, and you can make a note of the count in the comfort of your own home! |
