As you can see, the basic strategy for Super Fun 21 is very straightforward. The box shows you what to do with each combination of cards; if there’s a number in the box, it means that you if you have that number of cards or more, you should continue to hit, because if you get six cards you will win instantly, and also if you get 21 with five cards you double your money!
Super Fun 21 Quick Tips
* Surrendering. It’s not usually worth surrendering unless you’ve got four or more cards, with 15 against an Ace or 16 against a 10 or Ace. The only exception is when you’ve got a hard 17 against an Ace, when surrender is also recommended.
* Doubling down. Double on 10 or 11 against all up cards or 9 against 2 through 6. When doubling down, it’s advisable to surrender with 16 or below if the dealer has an 8, 9, 10 or Ace, and to surrender with 17 if the dealer has an Ace. Exceptions to this rule are a three-card 9 against 2; a four-card 9 against 3 or 4; a three-card 10 against 10; a four-card 10 against all up cards and a four-card 11 against all up cards.
Super Fun 21 Glossary
Bust - If your total goes over 21, you have gone bust and immediately lose the hand.
Double Down - This doubles your wager. At this point, you will only receive one more card and you can’t hit again.
Hit - Request a new card. This card is added to your existing cards. You can hit as many times as you like, but if you go over 21, you will go bust.
Soft - Using an Ace as an 11 rather than a 1.
Split - If you have two cards of the same value (a pair of twos, kings etc.), you can choose to split them, creating another hand.
Stand - Decide not to hit. Your hand will now be compared with the dealer's to see who wins.
Surrender - You can surrender half of your total bet at any time as long as you don’t have 21 and the dealer hasn’t gone bust or has a Blackjack.
