Zen Card Counting System
There are dozens of card counting systems – from the basic to the seriously advanced – if you’ve mastered basic strategies such as Hi-Lo, then the Zen Card Counting Strategy is an intermediate method of getting that vital edge over the casino.
Many card counting systems vary in the value given to 10s and Aces – the Zen Strategy is considered to take a middling stance. For example, some systems choose to ignore Aces in the standard count (giving them a value of 0).
However, systems with neutral Aces often require side counts – in other words you need to take note of the number of aces drawn per quarter pack and then calculate whether this has a positive or negative influence to your advantage.
If you’re relatively new to card counting, then you may prefer a system such as the Zen Count, which doesn’t require a side count – however, be aware that the Zen System isn’t designed for beginners.
The Zen system uses five different tag values, and while this increases the potential power of predicting whether you should increase or decrease your stakes – it also complicates the count a little.

The Zen Card Counting System is a balanced system, so it also requires the calculation of the true count – again, if you’re new to counting, you may wish to use an unbalanced system which only necessitates the running count.
The Zen count is used like a typical card counting system – increase your bets with positive counts and decrease them when the negative counts, when the casino has the statistical edge.
Despite the Zen System giving you an advanced edge over the house, always remember the dealer could still beat your hands when the count is high.
