It’s True, Khloe Kardashian Just Popped!
It’s true indeed, Khloe Kardashian just popped and it’s making headlines. I don’t keep up with the Kardashians. I find it utterly shameful that a show about a family famous for being famous continues to garner viewership for more than 10 years already. I would much rather watch paint dry, do paper work or watch Fifty Shades of Grey than watch the tripe that is Keeping Up With The Kardashians. But I digress. I’m not here to constantly discuss my dislike for the Kardashian family, but to talk about the latest little addition to the already big and extended family, little baby True.
What’s in the Name?
So according to online gossip columns, the name ‘True’ wasn’t just conjured up on a whim, although it sounds like it fits right into the fame-hungry family’s archive of names. North West, Saint West and Chicago West are True’s cousins by way of Khloe’s oldest sister, Kim’s marriage to Kanye West. Khloe’s decision to give her first-born daughter a name symbolizing purity was born of the fact that her mother’s father’s second name was True. There’s also a grandfather whose name was True, so it looks like the name truly runs in the family!
Will the Kids be Alright?
That’s a very valid question to ask! The Kardashian’s aren’t exactly model citizens or prime examples of human beings, but then who really is? Their show is a shameless parade of their fame-hungry lives, so I ask you now, will the kids be alright? Will True and her cousins, Chicago and North West, be roped into the KUWTK (short for Keeping Up With the Kardashians) lifestyle to become idols of materialism that get worshipped on a daily basis? This writer hopes not! There are so many things this world doesn’t need and KUWTK is one of those many things.
Reality TV That Bowed Out
A few years ago there was a reality show called The Osbournes. It followed the life of metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his family, and it ran from 2002 to 2005; a mere three years, which at the time felt very long, but it bowed out gracefully. I was no fan of it at the time, but looking back, I’d choose that show any day of the week. In fact, The Osbournes was popular enough for Microgaming to make an intricate and pretty advanced casino online game, known as The Osbournes Online Video Slots. I don’t know if this game still exists but I recall playing it and I found it charming. I can only hope that there are no plans to make a slot game about the Kardashians. The world doesn’t need that already financially bloated lot to say “Thanks” every time someone spins the reels.
The Kardashian Curse
True’s birth has arrived in nothing short of true Kardashian style. Scandal is always but a stone throw away from this family. With the oldest sister, Kim, there was the tape scandal in which suing turned to settling; showing that everyone has their price. In fact the men in the lives of the Kardashians have always made headlines and mostly for the wrong reason.
Maybe this family just loves courting scandal or scandal-prone people because they know it will up their ratings and their bottom line. Some have said that the Kardashian family is actually the problem and that after men have entered into relationships with its members, they’ve usually come short. This has led to the coining of the phrase, the Kardashian Curse. So far this curse has made mincemeat of notable sports and rap personalities, which by the looks of things, are the only two occupational categories that these girls prey on.
Lamar Odom, Reggie Bush, Ray J, Rashad McCants, Tyga and Scott Disick all account for past jaded lovers of the clan, some who now face financial and/or substance abuse problems. Kanye West seems to be surviving but he’s faced tough times since tying the knot, and Tristan Thompson’s NBA career hasn’t been too stellar since he started dating Khloe.
Born in the Midst of a Scandal
Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson are now the proud parents of baby girl, True, who was born on the 12th of April 2018. In true Kardashian style, Tristan was by Khloe’s side despite claims that he cheated on her. Funny how the women of the Kardashian clan are never to blame. Video footage surfaced of Tristan kissing a woman in a nightclub, who according to gossip news outlets, is a strip bar worker and Instagram model known as Lani Blair. The two are rumoured to have spent the night at Thompson’s hotel. Maybe they were just drinking tea and playing Trivial Pursuit? This all occurred just days before the arrival of their daughter. Thompsons’ philandering doesn’t stop there either. A woman going only by the name Stephanie has come forward to say that he also cheated on Khloe with her and she too is pregnant. In fact, Stephanie has released a sextape, which luckily is nothing new to the Kardashian family. However, this has turned out to be a ruse and Stephanie has since changed her Instagram handle. Trolls will be trolls.
Support from Family & Friends
I don’t follow the Kardashian clan at all but I’ve read enough to know that they’re more of a guilty pleasure to those who watch the show. Khloe was livid about the news of Tristan’s cheating, a fact that played into her delivering their daughter earlier than expected. Life is complex but the last thing we should do is hurt our loved ones, without trying to sound too clichéd. Khloe has received support in the aftermath of the birth of her daughter from friends and family. Family matriarch Kris Jenner has been lending her support to her daughter and one of Khloe’s friends, Khadijah Haqq posted a simple yet effective message on her Instagram account stating that “the best thing a father can do for their children is love their mother.” Let us all hope that the drama will be resolved, that True will grow into a healthy, socially conscious person and that the show will soon be cancelled and not be available on demand or as re-runs.
