Blackjack Basics

Blackjack’s predecessor was a game called Ving-et-Un, or Twenty-One in French, that originated in the aristocratic houses of 18th Century France.

The game was developed from there and is just as sophisticated as it ever was, but is luckily much less exclusive!

Blackjack’s unique blend of chance and strategy makes it the perfect game for Spin Palace players who want to take on the dealer and use their skills to win big, and you can take the mobile version with you wherever you go.

The game of Spanish 21 was created in Colorado by a gaming company called Masque Publishing, and has been played in the land-based casinos of Nevada since 1995. Equivalent but unlicensed versions soon became popular and were called a few different things, including Spanish Blackjack. The names are used quite interchangeably, and the version of Multi Hand Spanish 21 Blackjack that we offer to you at Spin Palace is both legitimate and incredibly entertaining.

Multi Hand Spanish 21 Blackjack Basics

There are several differences and several similarities between this version of Blackjack and the classic online and mobile casino games. As always, the game’s objective is to reach a hand total of 21, or as close to this as possible without exceeding it, all whilst beating the dealer.

Ace cards, face cards and number cards are worth 11 or 1, 10 and their face values respectively. The hand that everyone strives for is the Blackjack, made up of an Ace and face card, which naturally creates a 21 total.

We use 8 separate standard decks of cards in the Spin Palace multi hand version of the game, with the 10 cards removed from each. The decks are all reshuffled before each game, and you can bet up to 5 hands at once. These bets are placed before any cards are dealt, and then you and the Dealer will both receive hands of 2 cards.

You’ll be able to see the 2 cards in each of your hands and 1 of the Dealer’s, and will need to decide what to do next based on this information. You can Stand if you are happy with your total, or can Hit to get more cards and try to build a better hand.

The Dealer must Hit until reaching a total of at least 17. Once you and the Dealer are standing, your cards are revealed. If your hand total is under 21 but above the Dealer’s, or if you are under 21 and the Dealer hand is over, you win the round. And, of course, you win the game’s best payout of 3:2 if you manage to get a Blackjack hand!

Multi Hand Spanish 21 Blackjack Advantages

With the number 10 cards removed from each deck, the house edge in Multi Hand Spanish 21 Blackjack games goes up quite considerably. To negate this, and keep things interesting, you always win if you hit 21 even if the dealer does too; while in other versions of the game this results in a push. Being able to bet on multiple hands at once also gives you a lot more information to work with, because you can see more of the cards.

It’s also possible to Split cards until you have up to 4 cards, and the Dealer will Peek for Blackjack when their face-up card is a royal or an Ace card. This means they’ll check if their other card creates a natural Blackjack before you make any moves, which should help you decide what to do next. You’re also allowed to Double Down, doubling your bet and get 1 more card in each hand; no matter how many cards you’re holding in total.
