The unique elements in this Blackjack variant are that the playing deck is made up of 2 decks rather than the 4 or 8 decks that other table games use. The dealer will always stand if he hits a soft 17, which is handy to know for strategic play and he will also peek for Blackjack.

Doubling Down

Doubling down is allowed in Vegas Downtown Blackjack. You may Double Down after you received your first two cards.

You may also double down after a split. The double down bet will be equal to your original bet.

Splitting Rules

When it comes to splitting your deck, Vegas Downtown Blackjack has a few specific rules. You may split two cards that are equal to the same value. When doing so your hand is divided into two separate hands and a bet equal to the bet that you have placed will be added to the second hand.

You cannot make a Blackjack from splitting two aces and drawing a 10, this will simply be 21 and not count as a Blackjack. Splitting Aces means you will be dealt one other card and you must stand with those hands. Splitting can be done up to 3 times for a total of 4 hands.
